Dorothy W. Henley, 92, passed away March 13, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born September 3, 1921 in Trimble, Tenn. to Mancel and Gladys (Armstrong) Wesson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith where she was active in United Methodist Women. She was a member of PEO, and was a volunteer at Helena Regional Medical Center in Helena, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Smith Henley. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Parker and her husband Joel, of Fort Smith and Cheryl Myers and her husband Clair, of Kennett Square, Pa; two sons, James Henley and his wife Susie of Little Rock, Ark. and Van A. Henley and his wife Melissa of San Antonio, Texas; her eight grandchildren, Jill Wells, Joel Parker III, Susan Myers DeLuca, Jeff Myers, Chris Carpenter, Laura Henley, Drew Henley, Robert Henley; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear friend George Gaines. Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, in Roebuck Chapel at First United Methodist Church. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in the church narthex following the service.
