Mada B. Newton of Leola, Arkansas was born, September 9, 1936 in Pine Bluff, the daughter of the late Clyde and Pearl Murdock Clemons. She was a member of Leola Missionary Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Newton was a retired supervisor at Kohler Company and also was a retired secretary from the Grant County Courthouse. She enjoyed working in her yard, and cooking for her family. Her greatest times were spent with her family, whom she loved with all her heart. Mrs. Newton died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, at the age of 77. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband of 52 years, Jerry E. Newton; siblings, James Gray, Warren Clemons, Buddy Clemons, Carrie Bee Beard, Clydia Rae Beard, Delbert Craven Clemons, and John Marion Clemons. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Jerry R. and Ouida Newton of Leola; daughter and son in law, Vickie and Larry Shuff of Leola; a special sister and brother in law, Virgie and Tom Carpenter of Malvern; sister in law, Doris Gray of Malvern; grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Sarah Shuff, Mandy and husband Thomas Ketchersid, Brad and Jamie Newton, and Jamie Webb; great grandchildren, Emilee Webb, Carter Webb, Caden Shuff, Mason Shuff, Rachel Kate Newton and Natalie Gibson; a host of nieces, nephews, and special friend, Leslie Loftis. The family wants to express their heartfelt appreciation to the many family, friends, and Hot Spring County Medical Center Home Health, for all of their love and support during the past year. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Leola Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Johnie Brewster, Bro. Richard Sullivant and Bro. Robert Newton officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery in Leola. Pallbearers: Randy Groomes, Ben Smith, Paul Orr, Robert O'Neal, Tim Newton, Robin Dorey.
