Mr. Ortha Ray Trotter 80 of Jonesboro passed away Monday March 18 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born January 15, 1934 in Weiner to Ortha and Lillie Cooper Trotter.
Mr. Trotter was a farmer and owner of O.R. Trotter Trucking Co. He retired from GE after 20 years where he served as president of their union. He was an avid sports fan. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, the Razorbacks and the Red Wolves.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Earlene Trotter and Orzella Snyder, one brother; Larry Trotter. Survivors include: his wife Franceline Price Parker Trotter, son; Murray Trotter of Weiner, step-son; Lonnie Parker of Collierville, Tenn.; daughters; Shauna (Ray) Tipton, Ashdown Ark., Sandy (Wayne) Farley of Jonesboro, step-daughter, Rhonda (David) Throgmartin, brothers; C.W. Trotter of Newport, Joe Trotter of Weiner, sisters; Mildred Linn of Tumbling Shoals, Ark., and Merlene Chapman of Corning: grandchildren; Sasha Osment, Aaron Farley, Shaila James, Sydney Tipton, Shelby Tipton, Wesley Trotter, Seth Trotter, Sarah Trotter, step-grandchildren Tasha Gibson, John Waleszonia, 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday March 21, at 2 p.m. at Valley View, Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Walker Cemetery in Weiner. David Gibson will be officiating. His nephews will serve as pallbearers: Russ Lewis, Robbie Trotter, Danny Trotter, Corey Trotter, Peyton Trotter, Tyson Trotter.
