LOUISE PACE, first born child of Anna Mae and the late Jollie Pace, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born June 3, 1952 in Springfield, Mo. Louise grew up in Gainesville, Mo. before moving to North Little Rock. She was a graduate of Harding College and received her master's degree from the University of Tennessee Memphis in Social Work. She was a professor of Social Work at Freed Hardeman College in Henderson, Tenn. where she was named teacher of the year in her second year of teaching. After being diagnosed with a brain tumor on her 29th birthday, she decided to move closer to family and became a professor at Harding College. Her declining health forced her to retire in 1995. Louise was a tremendous role model not only to her sisters and brother but to all of her students whose lives she touched. She never met a stranger and had a special calling to help people in crisis. Her life was lived with JOY- Jesus first, others second and yourself last. She never let her health problems affect her Pollyanna glad girl attitude. She was preceded in death by her father and special aunt, Kay Houseknecht. She is survived by her mother; her sisters, Vicki Wilson and husband Danny, Nancy Hutchinson and husband Donnie; her brother, Jay Pace; and foster sister, Suzie Waldmahn; her nephews, Jay Cowley and wife Kelley, Justin Cowley; and niece, Jennifer Pattillo and husband Matt. She is survived by her greats: Caleb, Shelby, Luke and Ethan Cowley and Maebry, Bruce, and Wyatt Pattillo. She leaves her aunt, Sue and Roland Alexander and their family; and her uncle, Guy and Wilma Hare. Also to cherish her memory are her caregivers, Tammie Cotton and Resty Namaganda. To celebrate her life there will be a visitation at Roller Owens JFK (501-791-7400) on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. and funeral on Monday at 10 a.m. at Levy Church of Christ. A private burial will follow.
