GENEVA L. PORTER , 85, of North Little Rock joined her beloved husband, Marion, in heaven last Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born Sept. 4, 1928 in Sand Springs, Okla. Due to Alzheimers disease, her last years were in a nursing home in Waco, Texas to be near her primary caregiver, her daughter. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Marion; parents, Murphy and Willie Gillean; and her brother, Berval Gillean. She is survived by a large loving family: her son, Rickie and Nancy Porter, and their three sons: Jason and Aimee Porter - their three children; Jared; and Jacob and Megan Porter - their daughter. Her daughters family; Gwen and Paul Bartsch; grandson and wife, Andy and Kim Hopkins, and their four children; and granddaughter, Melody, her husband, Mark Cooley, and their two children. Also, according to the Lord's mysterious design, as we grieve the loss of Geneva, her first great-great-grandson is being born in El Paso, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks all friends to support the fight against Dementia/Alzheimers in her memory. Services at North Little Rock Funeral Home are scheduled as follows: Visitation on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Then the funeral on Monday at 1 p.m. On line obituary at www.SmithFamily Cares.com.
