Melver Evelyn Collins Hardin

Melver Evelyn Collins Hardin, 96, of Benton died Sunday, March 23, 2014. She was born January 14, 1918 in Monticello, AR to the late Sam and Mary Elisabeth (Burrough) Collins and worked for the Bryant School system. She attended Benton First Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Beb Hardin; her son, Jimmy Hardin; a granddaughter, Brandy Hardin; two brothers and five sisters. Survivors include three sons, Gerald Hardin (Margaret) of Benton, Jerry Hardin of Hot Springs, and James Hardin of Benton; one daughter, Suzanne Claunch (Randy) of Hobbs, NM; five grandchildren, Eugene, Russell, Brian, Raymond and Teresa Hardin; four great-grandchildren, Bradley, Jennifer, Brittany and Alex; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ethan and Liem. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Bro. Gene Husky officiating. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Memorial Park in Benton. Serving as pallbearers are Eugene Hardin, Russell Hardin, Brian Hardin, Bradley Hardin, Robert Pierce and Bobby Pierce. Alex Martinez and Raymond Hardin will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 25th at the funeral home.
