Thomas Patrick Organ

Thomas Patrick Organ was born January 20, 1937 in Montague, Massachusetts to John Leo Organ and Mary Margaret Callaghan Organ. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Calucci and Julia Welenc and one brother, Jim Organ. His four children were his heroes and he leaves them to cherish his memory, Lori Barlow and husband Greg, Teri Love and fiancé Jerry Moody, Marty Organ, and Jim Organ and his girlfriend Melinda Parker Havens; five grandchildren, Courtney Love Black, Amy Love Polk, Blake Organ, Zachary Organ, and Conner Organ and one great-grandchild, Alivia Grace Polk. Tom graduated from Greenfield High School in Greenfield, Massachusetts in 1955. He joined the Air Force in 1955 as well. He was discharged from the service at LRAFB in 1964 after 8 1/2 years of service. Tom remained in Arkansas where he raised his children. He coached many football, basketball, and softball teams at the North Little Rock YMCA and S.H. Optimist League. Tom was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in NLR. He retired from the Postal Service in 1995 as registry room clerk after 25 years of service. He was an avid small game hunter with dogs. He was also a member of the "coffee shop gang" that meets daily at McDonalds in Sherwood. He believed in humor. He did not care if you laughed at him or with him as long as you were laughing. He also believed that helping others is what brings joy in life. Mass will be held Thursday, March 27th, 2014, 4 p.m.-5 p.m. with a Visitation following from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Graveside service will be Friday, March 28th, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
