Klugh Edward Sorrells, 79, of Royal, Arkansas, traveled home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 27, 2014. He was born July 8, 1934 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Floyd E. and Ruby H. (Houser) Sorrells. Klugh was raised in Royal, Arkansas and graduated from Lake Hamilton High School, Pearcy, Arkansas. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville; where he also received his Master of Science Degree. Klugh served four years in the United States Air Force; served as Chief Chemist for ADEQ; served as Chairman of The American Chemical Society; and was The Founder of Sorrells Research Associates where he was President for thirty-eight years. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Klugh will also be remembered as a loving husband and a devoted father, step-father, grandfather, step-grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, Wanda June Fisher Sorrells and Sue Miller Sorrells; grandson, Gary Christopher Sorrells and great-grandson, Dallas Aiden Sorrells. Klugh is survived by his wife, Loretta (Suttor) Sorrells of Maumelle, Arkansas; sons, James B. Sorrells (Debra) of Royal; Cecil Anthony Sorrells of Little Rock, Klugh Edward Sorrells II of Mabelvale and Karl Sorrells (Heidi) of Maumelle; daughters, Lorra Sorrells Metcalf of Mabelvale and Virginia Sorrells Dodson (Henry) of Jacksonville; brothers, Tommy Sorrells (Joy) and Richard Sorrells (Julia) all of Royal; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several step-children and step-grandchildren. The family wishes to express special appreciation to Arkansas Hospice and the caregivers Barbara and Kathy. Memorials may be made to Lowe and McDowell Cemeteries in care of Tommy Sorrells. Pallbearers include James B. Sorrells II, David Aaron Sorrells, Eric A. Sorrells, Samuel A. Sorrells, Jacob A. Metcalf and Peyton R. Sorrells. Honorary pallbearers include Adam Sorrells, Thomas Matthew Sorrells, Joshua Sorrells, Reuben Agee, Cody Agee, and John Dodson. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Carrol Koon, Pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock and Klugh's brother Richard Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow in Lowe Cemetery, Royal, Arkansas. Family and friends will gather at the Hilltop after services. Guests register at www.caruth-hale.com.
