Edmund Joseph (Ned) Sweeney, affectionately known to many as Mr. No, age 73 passed from this life on Thursday March 27. He was born on Feb. 26, 1941 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Edmund John and India Cox Sweeney. Ned was a hard worker who enjoyed spending time in the garden and tending to the yard. He treasured the time he spent with his family. Survivors are his spouse, Nancy Carolyn Sweeney; children, Jeffrey (Deborah) Sweeney of Lonoke, Michele (Kevin) Hayes of Bryant, and step-daughter, Tamara (Charles) Rummel of Jacksonville. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Brittany Sperry, Joshua Vocque and J. W. Sweeney; three great-grandchildren; in addition to the nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren through marriage that he adored as his own; brother, Michael (Ineke) Sweeney; and his mother-in-law, Margaree Weddington; and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him. The family wishes to thank Micki Hull, Chris and Christy and the rest of the staff at Saline Hospice for their tender care of Ned. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Minick and Brother Don Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the funeral home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Ark. 72002. (501)455-1067.
