D.J. Winfrey

D.J. Winfrey, 87, of Damascus, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014. He was born on July 26, 1926 to the late King David and Serena Elizabeth (Rollins) Winfrey. D.J. is survived by his wife of 66 years, Majorie Winfrey; one sister, Myrtle Hensley of Damascus; many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Elmer Winfrey, Earl Winfrey, Jack Winfrey, and Virgil Winfrey; four sisters, Hattie Winfrey, Dovie Hudspeth, Esther Harmon, and Pauline Hendricks. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 1, 2014, at First Baptist Church Damascus with Bro. Daniel Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Spires Cemetery in Damascus. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers: Johnny Winfrey, Robert Lee Winfrey, Terry Hensley, Larry Winfrey, Danny Harmon, T.H. Gibbs. Honorary Pallbearers: J.D.
