Martin Coleman Henderson of Little Rock, Ark., was born in Brownwood, Texas January 28, 1976 to mother, Mary Garcia; and parents, Purnell and Drue Henderson. He accepted Christ at an early age at St. Mark Baptist Church where he served as a junior usher. He attended McClellan High School. Martin was active in the Boys Scouts of America and enjoyed fishing and cooking. He was a devoted father, son, uncle, friend, and recently became a grandfather.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Artoria Allen, Madison Henderson both Little Rock and Ciara Wilson Hot Springs; his granddaughter, Morgan White, Little Rock; fiance', Christie Estrada Houston, Texas; sisters, Tara Jones Dallas, Texas, Yendel Jones, Little Rock, Christina Garcia Brady, Texas and Adelina Hernandez Brady, Texas; nephews, Tory (Pavia) Jones and Alexander Jackson; niece Brianna Jones; uncles, Dwight (LaTricia) Henderson and Louis (Laverne) Thrower; aunts, Minnie Henderson, Shirley Price, Glenda (Ralph) Porchia, Debbie Thrower and Deborah Smith; cousins, Efrem Henderson, Joia Henderson and Julian Henderson; godparents, Plato and Mary Barnett; god sisters, Pretricia (William) Walker, Persephone Barnett and Angela (Tony) Forbes and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Home going services will be on Saturday, May 3, 2014, 11:00 am, at Grace Temple, 4217 S. Shackleford Road #1 LR. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Sparkman, Ark. Visitation: Friday, May 2, 2014, 7:30-8:30 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S. Chester St. LR (501) 372-1305.
