MR. JACK MORRISON, 92, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Mr. Morrison was born May 12, 1921 (Mother's Day) in Paducah, Ky. He grew up in McGehee, a town with an athletic history, after his family moved there on the job with the old Missouri Pacific Railroad. He graduated from Ouachita Baptist College in 1948 and while in college he met and married Edwina Dunning Morrison from Wilmot. His career includes coaching at Prescott, was the YMCA Physical Director at Baton Rouge, La. and Augusta, Ga. He was always interested in flying. He joined the United States Army Air Crops during World War II and was assigned to the B-17 in England. His love of flying and his military experience led to a career as an Air Traffic Controller with the FFA for 22 years. Retirement came easy to a fellow who loved ham radio and RVing and with his wife, an avid birdwatcher, much time was spent "on the road again". He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock. He is survived by a large, loving family from Oregon to Florida and South Carolina, who will continue to share happy memories as life goes on. A private burial will be held in the Wilmot Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg. Online guest book at www.jones-hartshorn.com.
