Billy Ray Johnson

The family of Billy Ray Johnson will be celebrating his life in a Memorial Service at Amboy Baptist Church on Thursday, May 8th, 2014 at 2 p.m. B.R. was born to Archie Mose Johnson and Ermel Pauline Parker Johnson on September 27, 1941. B.R. was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Ermel. He was preceded by his brothers, Jimmy Lee, Doyle Wayne and Larry Gene Johnson, by his son, Jimmy Wayne Johnson and daughter, Billie "Bullit" Rachelle Johnson Araujo. He is survived by his sister, Helen Marie Murdock Johnson and his brother, Tommy Joe Johnson, his son, Shane Johnson, and daughters, Dianna Johnson Beverly, Dee Anne Johnson, Melissa Johnson Loomis, and Tonya Johnson Powers and a step-son, Chris McCraw. He left a legacy of 13 grandchildren, Jeffery Johnson, Heathre Gossett, Corey Gossett, Cerisa Beverly, Cody Wadley, Gabriel Beverly, Patrick Johnson, Hayden Powers, Kolton Powers, Grace Araujo, Hudson Powers, Alex Araujo and Emma Johnson and by three great grandchildren, Evan Carle, Owen Gossett and Lily Gossett. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He began his career in the 1960's as a police officer in Conway and retired from the North Little Rock Police Department in 1984. He also was known to many as the owner of B.R. Johnson Fireworks. He lived a grandiose life that was equal parts joy and pain.
