Carroll J. Smith

Carroll J. Smith, 84, of El Paso passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in Little Rock, Ark. He was born on November 6, 1929 in Coos Bay, Oregon. Mr. Smith retired from the U.S Army after honorably serving his country for over 20 years. In his later years he moved from California to Cabot to be closer to his children. He was a member of the American Legion and attended Christ Church in Cabot. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Carol Maxheimer, and his beloved son, David Smith. Carroll is survived by his wife; Susie Smith, children; Sandra Cummings and husband Bobby of El Paso, Michael Maxheimer of Benton, daughter-in-law; Marietta of Searcy, brothers; Milton Maxheimer and wife Lousie of California, Paul Maxheimer and wife Jean of Mississippi, William (Bill) Maxheimer and wife Paula of Missouri, James (Jimmy) Maxheimer of California, sisters; Dona Strawn of California, Mary Halseth and husband Randy of California, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be Friday, May 9, 2014 at 12 noon at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Robert and Christina Chambers, 1544 El Paso Road, El Paso, Ark. 72045, a family who lost everything in the recent tornado, who Mr. Smith would love to help.
