Lucille Mabel Martindale

Lucille Mabel Martindale, 97, passed into eternal rest on May 5, 2014. Memorial service will be at First Baptist Church of Hewitt at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9th with Brother Roy Marshall officiating. Lucille was born in rural Kansas on March 12, 1917 to father, William M. Carter, and mother, Henrietta Ethel Holcomb. She married Everett Otto Martindale on October 30, 1932. She was married to him until his death in 1990, they were married for 58 years. Lucille was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, Arkansas where she completed a master's degree. She taught 1st graders for 30 years in the northern Illinois area. She was a selfless individual always putting others first. Lucille was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hewitt, Texas. Her family will treasure her memory always. Lucille is survived by her son, Everett O. Martindale, Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas and daughter, Kathy Whipple and husband, Jerry, of Hewitt, Texas; grandchildren, Adrian Burns and wife, Tamara of Robinson, Texas, Lynda Whipple of Syracuse, New York, Julianne DeLong and husband, Dennis of Conway, Arkansas, Katherine Reed of Little Rock, Arkansas, Bonnie Beth Casad and husband, Rolf, of Tucson, Arizona, David Martindale of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jennifer Hennessey of Conway, Arkansas; and 14 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Hewitt, Texas.
