Ruth C. Pace, age 94 of Camden, Ark. was born October 1, 1919 in Tyro, Kan. and died May 6, 2014 at Ouachita County Medical Center after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harris H. Pace, her parents Chester and Virginia Irving Cox; stepmother, Pearl L. Cox; brother, Obed Cox; and sister, Imogene "Bunch" Kounter. She is survived by a sister, Ulys C. Martin of Cincinnati, OH; by her daughter, Martha Virginia Pace of Little Rock, her daughter, Ruth Ellen Lindsey (L.E.) of Camden; her grandson, John H. Lindsey (Megan) of Little Rock; and her great grandsons, Nathan and Evan Lindsey. Ruth attended the University of Ark. at Monticello and lacked only one semester completing her college degree. She taught music, worked as a substitute teacher and as a medical transcriptionist. Ruth will be remembered for her wonderful chocolate pie, other baked goods, her beautiful sewing skills and her saxophone playing. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Ouachita Co. Medical Auxiliary, PEO and the oldest member of the Camden Community Band. Ruth loved reading, playing bridge, gardening and caring for her little dog Lucy. The family would like to express appreciation for the loving care provided by Neda Todd, Frances Cross, Joyce Malone, and Wendy Swain. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Friday May 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. with private burial before the service. Proctor Funeral Home in Camden is in charge of arrangements.
