Reverend J. Ramsey Williams 84, of Clinton, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was born August 30, 1929 in Malvern, Arkansas to the late Jesse James and Gladys L. (O'Neal) Williams. Ramsey was very much a family man. He grew up with four rambunctious brothers and three loving sisters. There were wonderful times to be had down at the "Old Home-place", stories that he continued to tell often. Then came along the love of his life, his wife Nelva. He loved her with all his heart and anyone that knew the two of them knew they were still in love to the day of her death. His 'pride and joy' was his daughter Kathy. And she was and always will be a total Daddy's girl. He loved his son-in-law Bob so much and always called him his son. Then came the two most precious gifts, his grandsons, Brandon and Paul. He beamed with such pride anytime he spoke of them and enjoyed every moment he got with them. They were loved beyond measure by their grandpa. Ramsey held various job titles throughout his life. But his greatest love was that of an Assembly of God ordained minister. From preaching his first sermon as a young teenager to becoming an evangelist and then on to pastoring several churches, Ramsey truly was a Man of God. He was the most comfortable behind the pulpit preaching God's Word. He had a very compassionate heart and loved his church family immensely. Heaven is much fuller today because of his obedience to always listen to God's leading for sharing his salvation with those he came in touch with. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 60 years, Nelva C. (Crouse) Williams, grandson, Brandon Tyler Bradford, three brothers, Ed, Joe, and Ken Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Bradford and husband Bobby of Clinton, Arkansas; grandson, Paul Andrew Bradford of Springfield, Missouri; three sisters, Adell Spears of Malvern, Arkansas, Mary Lou Douglas of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Sue Mitchell and husband J.D. of Malvern, Arkansas; many nieces, nephews and close friends. Pallbearers: Don Williams, Ken Mitchell, Dennis Mitchell, Curt Hagerty, Steve Williamson, Donnie Collins, and Jim Hawk. Honorary Pallbearers: Harry Pritchett, Don Ray Williams. David Williams, Ron Williams, Sonny Hall, and Aaron Duvall. Visitation will be 1 p.m. and Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Arkansas with Pastors Michael Powers, Bud Avants, and Terry Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Pee Dee Cemetery Clinton, Arkansas. Donations can be made to: Arkansas Hospice 1105 Deer Street, Suite 10, Conway, Arkansas 72032.
