Emma Gertsch Sumrall McClain, 99, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014. Emma was born in Interlaken, Switzerland to the late Karl Louis and Marianna Függi Gertsch. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands George A Sumrall Jr. and Charles M. McClain Sr; her son, George A. Sumrall III, daughter, Billie Sumrall Rebler; several brothers and sisters. Emma was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also member of the Altar Guild. Emma retired as a LPN for MoPac Hospital. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved to Polka, play cards, and to travel. She is survived by her son, Robert L. Sumrall and wife, Marilyn of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; two grandsons, Mark R. Sumrall and wife Kathleen M. of Austin, Texas and Adam T. Sumrall and wife MacKenzie B. of Dallas; one great-grandson William M. Sumrall of Austin, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116, (501-791-7400). Interment will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014.
