Eugene W. Evans was born on June 2nd, 1930 and passed away May 20, 2014. "Gene" was a veteran of the Korean War, a Sgt., and received Army OCCP. Medal in Japan, a National Defense Service Medal, a United National Service Medal, a Defense Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars and he was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rites as well as a member of the American Legion Post 71 in Cabot, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife Rosalie; children Ernie of Washington State, Connie Clay of North Little Rock, Cindy Smith of North Little Rock, Danny Evans (Tina ) of Lonoke, Dan Edward Barnhart (Loretta) of Austin, Arkansas and a son –in-law Rick Linker. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Barnhart and a daughter, Theresa Linker. Other Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Burgess of League City, Texas and Margaret Denton of Cleveland, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four stepchildren, Jerry Berry, Larry Berry, Annette Compton and Rosetta Watson. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at Levy United Methodist Church at 701 W 47th St., North Little Rock, Ark. 72118. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, at Prairie View Cemetery in Prairie View Arkansas (near Scranton).
