Saturday, May 24th, Eleanor M. (Gilbert) Staton of Quitman, Ark, formerly of Cabot, passed from this life and is now at rest with her heavenly father. She was born August 27, 1929 to Sarah and Earl Gilbert in Auburn, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Erma, Mildred, and Carrie. Eleanor was a member of Kaley Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Quitman and former member of Charity Missionary Baptist in Ward. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wayne, and son Darrel (Joni) of Quitman, daughter Brenda of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and son, Earl (Debbie) of Mayflower, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister, Lola Fae Ramer of Benton, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 29 from 6-8 p.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 700 N. Second, Cabot, Ark. (501) 843-5816. Funeral service will be Friday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Prairie Union Cemetery c/o Elizabeth Sowden, 29 Kali Court, Vilonia, Ark. 72173 or to Mt. Carmel Cemetery, P.O. Box 1092, Cabot, Ark. 72023.
