Homer Edward Martin of Carlisle, passed away May 26, 2014. He was born April 11, 1942 in Colt, Arkansas to Homer Lee and Maude LouElla Martin. Homer was a diesel mechanic for Carlisle Implement for 37 years, serving farmers in Lonoke and Prairie counties. He was a devoted father and faithful member of Carlisle First Baptist Church. He was known as a gentle and kind man, a good neighbor, and a dedicated Christian.
He is survived by his children, Teresa DeVore (Tim) of Des Arc, and Steve Martin of De Valls Bluff; five grandchildren, Mason, Rachel, Kara, Zac, and Sarabeth, and a sister, Geraldine Borden of Colt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at the First Baptist Church in Carlisle. The family will receive friends for visitation at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
