Nannie Lee Seymore

Nannie Lee Seymore, age 95, of Lake Mary, Florida and Warren, Arkansas, our beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with our Lord on May 24, 2014. Nan was born in Kingsland, Arkansas on November 14, 1918, the fourth daughter of Viva and Lee Childress. She and her brother and sisters learned the values of life and to follow Jesus at their mothers' knee, and lived their lives for Him. Nan loved cooking, especially pecan pies, which were her specialty. She also loved family gatherings, crepe myrtle bushes in bloom, and taking care of those in need. She was a strong, independent lady, who worked hard at everything she attempted. She loved to sing and had a beautiful singing voice, which was on full display in a singing quartet formed with her sisters, who sang in local churches and entertained family visitors. Nan spent her early years in and around Kingsland, Arkansas. She spent most of her adult years in Warren and Pine Bluff, Arkansas, near the rest of her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warren. She moved to Florida to be near her daughter, Bettye, in 2002. Together, they fought her valiant battle against dementia/alzheimer's disease. She is so loved and so missed already. Nan was preceded in death by her husband, E. Grey Seymore, in 1984; her daughter, Louise Seymore Beasley and her husband Nap; adored sisters, Bernice Parham, Pauline Cash, and Margaret Ponder; and her mother, and father, Viva and Lee Childress. Nan is survived by her daughter, Bettye Seymore Moss, and her husband Sonny Moss of Lake Mary, Florida; granddaughters Michelle Moss Weiss (Atlanta) and Kristy Moss (Orlando); great-granddaughters, Meredith and Ansley Weiss; her brother, Truston Childress and family of Portland, Oregon; nephews, Bruce and Don Cash and families of Arkansas; niece, Sandra Parham and family also of Arkansas; nephews Leslie Childress (Seattle, WA) and Craig Childress (Portland, OR); the Russel Seymore family of Gulfport, Miss., including nieces, Marie Romano, Mary McCabe, and Patty Zupco, and nephew, Russel Seymore Jr., and families. A memorial service will be held in Warren, Arkansas on Saturday, May 31, at 2 p.m. at the Frazer Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Warren.
