Paul Thomas Babbitt, 80 of Benton, passed away November 2, 2014 at his home. He was born August 6, 1934 to the late Paul and Lillian Babbitt. Paul was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army and in his younger years, he was an avid Blues Musician, recording a couple of records in the late 50's and 60's. Paul worked for Alcoa for more than 41 years.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years,Patsy Babbitt and brother, Jimmy Fred Babbitt. Survivors, son, Tony Babbitt and wife, Rasha, daughter, Paula Babbitt-Nagy and husband, Keith, grandchildren, Paul Thomas Babbitt II, Tate Nagy, Ryan Nagy and Alexa Smith.
Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 2 p.m. Friday with Bro. Kim Hammer officiating at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Ashby Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Saline County Humane Society in memory of Paul and Patsy Babbitt.
