Mary Ann Ison, 76, of El Paso, said good bye to her husband, family and friends on November 13th, 2014. She was born in El Paso, Arkansas on July 2nd, 1938 to Bud Mullens and Bertie (Hancock) Mullens. Mary was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, John Mullens. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Morris Ison of El Paso; sister, Bert Shelby of Tulsa, Okla.; sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith; brother-in-law, Carol Allen Ison and two nephews, Johnny Mullens and David Shelby (Betty) of Tulsa, Okla. Both Mary and Morris enjoyed traveling together, antiquing and collecting memorabilia. When Mary was attending Arkansas State University in Beebe, where she earned her Associate's Degree, she was honored to have served as Homecoming Queen. She was a member of Oak Church of Christ in El Paso, Past President of the EHC Club and a member of White County Historical Society. Mary will always be remembered by her family and friends for her delicious home cooked meals and baked goods. She cheerfully prepared many fine meals for her family and guests on special occasions or regular get-togethers. Her cooking, canning and baking skills were so great that they brought her numerous ribbons, all won at the White County Fair. Mr. Ison and family wish to express their deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to Mary's caregiver, Jeanette Johnson and the staff of the Summit Hospice in Searcy, for their love and tireless assistance. A visitation and celebration of Mary's life will be held on Friday, November 14th, 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock.
