Nevada Smothers, 94, of Mayflower passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014. She was born in Minturn, Arkansas on May 30, 1920 to the late Frank and Edith (Reed) Taylor. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Smothers; son, Gary Smothers; one great-grandson; three brothers and one sister. Nevada was of Baptist Faith. Being a homemaker when it came to her family they always came first. She also loved working in the Mayflower School System in the cafeteria for seven years.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Jean) Smothers of North Little Rock, Michael (Helen) Smothers of Beebe; daughter, Gail Griffey of Little Rock; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lewis Smothers of Higginson; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers; two adopted daughters, Barbara Mathis and Gladys McNinch; adopted son, John Prince; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 12 noon Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Strangers Home Cemetery in Alicia, Ark. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice. For online obituary www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
