Willie Laverne Rook

Willie Laverne Rook, 88, of Sherwood died on Thursday, November 13, 2014 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Laverne was born October 4, 1926 to the late Lois and Myrtle (Smith) Simmons in Beebe, Arkansas. Laverne is preceded in death by her husband Herbert D. Rook and one brother: Roy Simmons. She is survived by two children:son Brent Rook and wife Suzi of Sherwood and daughter: Dreama Wyman of Sherwood, three grandchildren: Amber Eltrich, Joshua Miller and Holly Warren and husband Sam, four great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Porscha, Christopher and Aden; Niece Dana Simmons and husband Kenny Rand and nephew Roy Gene Simmons and wife Susan. Laverne was an avid sports fan who cheered the Arkansas Razorbacks with much enthusiasm! She was dearly loved by her friends & family at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ and her life was enriched by precious moments shared with them. Her zest and love for others was the theme of a faithful and just woman whose life enriched those who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 15, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ with Pastor Greg Clark officiating.
