James Duke, 57, entered into rest at Denver Health Medical Center due to complications related to cancer. Renee and their four cats will forever miss Jim. He is the love of Renee's life. Jim was an anesthesiologist/attending physician at DHMC and an associate professor at the Univ. of Colo. Jim loved mentoring and teaching the residents, nurses, med. students. He loved to travel, read, work in his glorious yard and ride his tricked out red Harley with his babe on back. He loved a good margarita. He had a big personality and enjoyed making people laugh. He was also stubborn and exacting when it came to treating his patients. He was preceded in death by his father, David, and brother, Daniel. He will be missed by his two moms, Lorraine and Mom June. He always thought it was important to take care of "the moms." Beloved nephew of Netty. Loved by his siblings, Debbie (Marti), Nita (Glenn), Terry, Ron (Lori), Cynde, Missy and Dale (Jennifer) and his in-laws Cecil and Betty Croy, brothers-in-law, Michael (Sheri), Mitchell and Steve. Loved and admired uncle to Josh (Jamie), Amy (Nash), Brennan, Chelsea (Will), Zachary, Kathleen, Leslie, Savannah, Brandon, Megan, Lauren, Maggie, Cayla, Chance. He will also be missed by countless friends. A Denver area celebration of Jim's life will be announced soon. Please share condolences at horancares.com
