Laurel Bartlett

Laurel Bartlett, 74, of Ward passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014. She was born September 9, 1940 in Kiester, Minnesota to the late Melvin Larson and Pauline Obermeyer. Laurel was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Kiester, Minnesota. She had previously worked as a clerk, for the Winnebago Company, and for Silver Dollar City. Laurel taught Sunday school and was involved with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She also volunteered with WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church). Camping, traveling, and visiting with family and friends were some of her favorite things. She also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, listening to Elvis, country music, and watching Little House on the Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter; Heather Nichole Schmidt, brother; Leroy Larson, and brother in law, Duane Wazholz. She is survived by her husband, Merlyn Bartlett, children; Dawn (Dennis) Moore of Austin, Robin (Bryan) Brown of Pittsburg, Missouri, Perry (Donna) Bartlett of Thomaston, Georgia, sister; Loretta Wacholz of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Sister in law; Joyce Larson of Wells, Minnesota, grandchildren; Justin (Whitney) Bartlett, Jamie Bartlett, Joseph Brown, Jonathan Brown, Christine Bartlett, step grandchildren; Adrian Moore and Corey Moore, great-grandchildren; Jackson, Ava Grace, Aiden, step-great-grandchildren; Aunica and Zoe. Memorial service will held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the chapel at Moore's Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the spring at Our Savior Lutheran Church Cemetery in Kiester, Minnesota.
