Sandra J. Newman, formerly, Sandie Johnson of Little Rock, passed away Thursday after a long illness. A stage director for many years in Pittsburgh and Los Angeles, Sandie combined a real estate career with her love for theatre. Moving to Little Rock in 1997, she became a volunteer for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Newman of Little Rock; son, Brownie Johnson of New Jersey; son and daughter-in-law, Bradford and Ann Johnson; and granddaughter, Lindy Johnson, all of Pittsburgh.
The family expresses deepest thanks to nurse's aide Deanna Bobus, nurse, Ashley Kell, and Hospice of Central Arkansas, Hot Springs, for their special care and concern. A graveside service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 18 at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
