Billy Lee Wilkins, Sr.

Billy Lee Wilkins Sr., 83, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather (lovingly named Daddy Bill by his grandchildren), departed this life to be with the Lord on November 18, 2014. Billy was born August 24, 1931 at Birome, Texas to Samuel and Loyine Wilkins. He served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne Pavillion at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina during the Korean conflict from 1952-1954. He and his family moved to Little Rock when he was transferred here by Royal Crown Cola Parent Company. He worked many years as District Manager, managing 25 bottling plants in Arkansas. He also worked many years for the Mapco Corporation at Harris Distributors in the appliance division. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Waymond and Don. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughter, Deborah (Debbie) and her husband, Joe Craig; son, Billy Jr. (Bubba) and his wife, Tina and son, John and his wife, Kelley; his granddaughter, Kristin (Wilkins) Roberts and her husband, Phillip Roberts and grandson, Clayton Wilkins. Bill has one darling great-granddaughter, Bailey Layne Roberts and a special group of step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his cousin, Linda Christian Ferguson and a sister-in-law, Margaret Schuetz and her children, Karen and Kevin of Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 5124 Hillcrest, on Saturday, November 22 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Walter officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 250769, Little Rock, Ark. 72225.
