William Calvin McLaughlin

William "Bill" Calvin McLaughlin of Redfield, Arkansas passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas at the young age of 70. He was born in Nashville, Arkansas to James Calvin and Nettie Mae Simmons McLaughlin. He was a graduate of Nashville High School and took several college courses throughout the years, always scoring in the top of his class. He was a jack of all trades, doing work as an oil field rigger, service station owner, disc jockey, roofer, gun smith, and last but certainly not least a Wildlife Officer for the State of Arkansas for 31 years. He enjoyed music, repairing guns, and studying the word of God. He had such a great love for the outdoors but his greatest love was for his children and grandchildren, always worrying about everyone's safety. He was a Mason and a member of the River Road Baptist Church in Redfield. I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Wayne McLaughlin. His survivors include a daughter, Christy (Tim) Smith of Sheridan, Ark. and two sons, Farley (Mary Lynn) McLaughlin of Prescott, Ark. and Robbie McLaughlin of Sheridan, Ark., a sister Joyce Dickson of Big Sandy, Texas. Grandchildren include, Elizabeth Smith, Calie Carter, Ashley Hale, Matt McLaughlin, Kristen McLaughlin, Jessica McLaughlin. Great-grandchildren include Rylie and Carson Carter, Sophie Hale, and Abbigail Stepp. He had a host of nieces and nephews that loved him also. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Redfield Cemetery in Redfield Arkansas and a graveside service will be held at the same location on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 2 p.m. The family would like to thank the wonderful and loving staff of Trinity Village Medical Center for caring for their dad and papaw.
