Curt Carpenter, 56, of Rogers, formerly of Russellville, passed away Wednesday November 19, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family. The son of James and Nancy Carpenter, he was born October 29, 1958 in McAlester, Oklahoma. Curt was a 1976 graduate of Hot Springs High School and a graduate of Arkansas Tech University. He and Jeannie Morphis were married on May 24, 1980 in Russellville. He was the previous owner and manager of Village on the Creeks Athletic Club in Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Jeannie Carpenter; two sons, Kolten and Bronson Carpenter of Rogers; three sisters, Jamie Smith, Cyndi Henrichs, and Carla Nelson; his parents-in-law, Charles and Lila Morphis, Russellville; sister-in-law, Gayla and brother-in-law, Rev. Danny DuVall, Cabot. Curt's life was filled with many things that brought him great joy. These joys included: spending time with his family, loving his wife, watching his sons play football, and annual hunting trips tracking elk. Curt was a talented construction engineer and an avid weightlifter. Making a difference in the world was important to Curt. He accomplished this by giving to his local church and various missions projects, as well as helping men in the community with issues where he had expertise. Most of all, Curt's life was filled with the joy of knowing and walking with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Curt's friends and family look forward to seeing him again at the coming of the Lord. The family will hold a memorial service at 3 p.m., Monday, November 24th, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Rogers, 3364 W Pleasant Grove Rd. Burial will be private at Rankin Cemetery in Russellville, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 25th from 6-8 p.m. at Russellville First Assembly of God Fellowship Hall at 124 East G Street in Russellville.
