BOBBY CARROLL CHINN, 80, of Jacksonville passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 surrounded by his wife, son and other family members. Bobby was born April 3, 1934 in Magness, Ark. to the late Emma and Ellis Chinn. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Mattie and Mae; three brothers, Kennard, Denzel and D.B. He proudly served our country in the 101st Airborne Division Easy Company. He moved his family to Jacksonville in 1960 and co-owned Esquire Barber Shop in Jacksonville for 35 years. He retired in 1994. After closing his barber shop, everywhere he went guys would say " I wish you would re-open, I can't get a decent haircut." He and his partner, Jerry Leggitt, worked together for many years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Lynda; a son, Roger and his wife, Janis; three daughters, Cathy Dougherty and her husband, Mike of Cabot, Kim Hill and her husband, Mark of North Little Rock and Kelli Holsted and her husband, Keith of Sherwood. He was also a proud grandfather of Tiffany Ferez and her husband, Frank, Nick Dougherty and his wife, Chrissy, Bo Dougherty, Dalton, Daylan, Drayson and Durham Hill, Walter Merriman and his wife, Lauren, Elizabeth Johnston and three great-grandchildren. Bobby also leaves behind a sister, Nadine Thompson of Snyder, Okla., many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family would like to thank the special people from Baptist Home Health, Michelle, Lana and Gala, also Tina and Connie with Baptist Hospice. A special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Neuhauser for his constant and compassionate care. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Bro. Dennis Wilkins and Bro. Royce Lowe officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital www.archildrens.org.
