Nancy Lee LORENE Hopkins, from North Little Rock, born on September 10, 1922 in Mayflower, Arkansas passed away on November 25, 2014 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded by her husband of forty eight years, Heber Hopkins; her parents, Curtis and Ida Rhoads; her brother, Larry Rhoads; sisters, Dell Simmons, Jean McDaniel, and Itha Smyers; three grandsons, Donald Wayne and Darryl Wade Cummings and Jaime Shackelford. She leaves behind those to mourn her death and celebrate her life—daughter, Barbara (Al) Cummings of Texarkana; son, Ronald (Ruth) Hopkins of Alexander; son, Steve (Nita) Hopkins of Sherwood; and daughter, Nancy (Joe) Smith of Cabot. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Rose City Church of the Nazarene. The family wishes to thank her two special church friends John and Cleva Jones who visited her numerous times in the hospital, rehab and long term care facilities. Mr. and Mrs. Jones were also generous to take her to church on Sundays and Wednesdays, when she was able to attend. We extend our deep appreciation to the wonderful staff of West Markham Sub-Acute Care and Rehab with special recognition of her nurse Crystal Thornton. Memorial may be made to The Cancer Institute, 4000 Jack Stephens Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205. Visitation will be at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday, November 29 at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Mayflower Cemetery.
