Frank Farris Thompson

Frank Farris Thompson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 9, 1928 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of the late Lawrence and Ruby Farris Thompson. He had served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, was a UCA Alumni, a past board member of Sheridan Golf Club, and a member of the Etheridge Hunting Club. He enjoyed playing golf, riding in his golf cart, hunting, and fishing. Mr. Thompson died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his home at the age of 86. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Thompson and a sister, Ruby Thompson Raines. Survivors: loving wife, Wilma McClain Thompson of Sheridan; sons, Tommy and wife Debbie Thompson of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mark Thompson and Rhonda Buckner of Little Rock; daughter, Karen Thompson Rutherford of Sheridan; brother, Jerry Thompson of Newark, Del.; grandchildren, Kyle and wife Frankie Rutherford of Haskell, Kristopher and wife Shannon Rutherford of Sheridan, Sam Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas, Daniel Thompson of Pittsburgh, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Reese Rutherford, Jaxton Rutherford and Hadley Rutherford and a host of friends and golf buddies. A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Sheridan First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Embrey and Jack Muren officiating. A time of fellowship with family and friends will be immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Sheridan Golf Club, 653 Grant 43, Sheridan, Ark. 72150.
