Micheal Edward Wray, 65, of Camilla, died Sunday, September 28 2014 at his residence after losing a courageous battle with cancer. No formal service will be held. The Wray family will be gathering at a later date for a Celebration of Life Service. Born January 16, 1949, in Batesville, Miss., he was the son of the late Thomas Edward Wray and Margaret Bernero Wray. He was a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in business. "Micheal was a humble, good natured and kind man who could bring smiles with a joke even during difficult days throughout his illness" his family remembered. "Courage does not boast, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow." He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane "Janey" A. Fontan Wray. Survivors include two children, Thomas B. Wray and wife Christy of Camilla and Emily Wray Shuman and husband Stacey of Port Wentworth, Ga.; four treasured granddaughters, Loren Wray and Taylor Wray both of Camilla, Breanna Shuman and Micheala Shuman both of Port Wentworth, Ga.; five brothers and sisters, Anne Davis and husband Gary of Little Rock, Ark., Wanda Clemons and husband Bill of Harpswell, Maine, Anthony Wray and wife Mary of Perry, Ark., Bonnie Roberts and husband Larry of Garland, Texas, Alan Wray and wife Kelley of Maumelle, Ark., sister-in-law, Jacquelyn Fontan Torrens of Port Wentworth, Ga. The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice, in particular Cathy Tulipane, for their dedicated and exceptional caring. The care provided to Micheal by Charles M. Mendenhall, M.D. and staff of Radiation Oncology Associates, exemplify the ideals of personalized and compassionate medicine for which the family will be forever grateful. Contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 412 1st Street SE, Moultrie, Ga. 31768. Cobb Funeral Chapel of Moultrie has been entrusted with arrangements.
