William Arthur Puckett Jr.

William Arthur Puckett Jr. taught his final lessons and went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2014, his 82nd birthday. He was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and is survived by his loving wife, Trude Puckett; his children, Steven Wayne Puckett, William Mark Puckett, Brus Turk Puckett, Kenneth Edwin Puckett and Lori Ann Viola Vincent; his sister, Phyllis Kay Lewis; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Bill was a decorated Navy veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was also a retired educator. Bill taught school and worked for the Arkansas Department of Education. He returned to school in mid-life and obtained his registered nursing credentials. After many years of nursing at Baptist Medical Center, he finished his career as an instructor at the Baptist Health School of Nursing. Visitation will immediately precede the funeral service at Markham Street Baptist Church in Little Rock on Friday, October 3, 2014. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. and the funeral service follows at 11 a.m. After the service, interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Bill's memory to Baptist Health Foundation for the William A. Puckett, Jr. Memorial Nursing Scholarship.
