Dorothy Elizabeth Beck

Dorothy Elizabeth Beck, a prominent personality in the Searcy community for the past several decades, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 2, at the age of 85. She is survived by her son, Gary Beck and his wife Pamela of Batesville, Va.; daughter Debra Beck of Plano, Texas; daughter, Melody Hogan and her husband John of Charlotte, N.C.; her brother, Jeep Tullous of Cleveland, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Ellie Hogan, Gloria Cave, Aaron Cave, Keira Beck, Daisha Beck and Brandon Beck and her great-grandchildren Christian, Caleb, Braden, Ruthie and Reid. She is also survived by the thousands whose lives were touched by Dot Beck's kindergarten, Tender Years, her singing and entertaining and her countless hours of volunteer work in the community. A memorial service will be held at the College Church of Christ in Searcy on her birthday, Sunday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m. immediately followed by her "Going Away Party" in the adjoining family room.
