Zelma Charlene Cooper, 87, of Searcy died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014. She was born Sunday, Oct. 31, 1926 in Sidon, Ark. to the late George and Cora English Wood. She was a homemaker and a longtime volunteer Foster Grandmother at Searcy Head Start. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett Cooper; infant son, Anthony; three brothers, George, Clinton and Evert Wood and two sisters, Ruby English and Lucille Fason. She is survived by two sons, Bethel Thurman of Little Rock and Richard Cooper Sr. of Searcy; two grandsons, Richard Cooper Jr. and Christopher Cooper; two great-grandsons, Adam Cooper and James Cooper; great-granddaughter, Samantha Cooper and one great-great-grandson. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, 2-4 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct., 2014 in the Sidon Cemetery.
