John Anderson Pierce

John Anderson Pierce, age 75, of Haskell passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at his home. He was born April 21, 1939 in Bearden, Ark. John retired after 30 years from Interstate Sign Co., an Air Force Veteran and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Georgie Pierce; brothers, William David Pierce, Charlie Pierce and Curtis Pierce; sister, Daisy Hood; sons-in-law, Anthony Hinds and Paul Baker; great-grandson, Dylan Baker. Survivors: wife, Helen Blair, Haskell; daughters- and sons-in-law, Twyla and Timmy Dempsey, Leola, Karla Hinds, Haskell, Arla Baker and husband Eddie Dean, Benton; sisters, Helen Jones, Haskell, Marjorie Clark, Haskell, Margaret George and Husband Jamie, Rogers, Ark.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ashby's. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Traskwood Cemetery. Minister will be Bro. Eddie Kitchens. Pallbearers: Tommy Sharp, Jason Pierce, Squeak Mobley, Eli Yates, Mark Warford and Hunter Loughary.
