Grace Louise Nix

Grace Louise Nix, 84, of Oppelo, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 4, 2014. She was born January 11, 1930 in Little Rock, Ark., to the late James Claude Wilkerson and Bessie Vanness Wilkerson. Grace was also preceded in death by her two brothers, James Claude Wilkerson, Jr., and Carroll Wilkerson; great-grandchildren, Angelo Michael Cambiano and Taylor Nicole Boullie; and son-in-law, Orville Wayne Evans. Grace was a longtime member of Perryville Church of Christ. She was employed at Timex, and later at Conway County Hospital in the Dietary Department until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing and was a very gifted seamstress. Grace was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Grace is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles Thurman Nix, Sr.; children, Rebecca Ann Evans of Morrilton, Charles "Pete" Nix (Glenda) of Alexander, Melissa Louise Maddox of Paragould, and Linda Kay Geisler (Rolf) of Toronto, Canada; 17 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; sisters, Connie Mae Thornton, Shirley Ann Adams, and Peggy Lynn Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 8 at Perryville Church of Christ, with Charles Smith and Marty Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Wolfe Cemetery in Oppelo. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles (Chuck) Nix, III, James Steven Atkinson, Jason Malone, Nathan Wayne Braden, Robert Clifton Braden, and Justin Ray Atkinson. Shane Lynn Boullie will be serving as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway (501) 327-7727.
