Florence Opal Roberts

Florence Opal Roberts, 90 of De Valls Bluff, Arkansas, flew into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday evening, October 6, 2014 surrounded by her son, George and her extended family. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Florence was born to Neeley and Della Kent Edge on December 30, 1923. She was a retired postal employee, a former mayor of De Valls Bluff and a major civic leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Hall and husband, George "Buddy" Roberts; son, Jimmy Lynn Hall; brothers, Delbert and Ed Edge, and a sister, Inez Minton. Florence leaves behind her son, George E. Roberts, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters, Karen Harlow of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Jan Barnes of Jonesboro, Arkansas; great-grandsons, Gary Brown of Dallas, Texas and Garrett and Jared Barnes both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; great-great-grandson, Jayden Brown of Dallas; niece, Maxine Petrus of Des Arc, Arkansas; two great-nieces, Francine Dickson of Des Arc and Karen Jo Petrus of Little Rock; great nephew, Delbert Minton of England, Arkansas; Sandra Hart, a very special person and extended family and scores of friends and extended family both here and in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in De Valls Bluff Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in De Valls Bluff.
