Alan Duane Simmons

Alan Duane Simmons, 54, passed away on Friday, October 3rd. He is survived by his mother, brother, three sisters, and grand-nephews. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and father figure. He worked over 20 years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Alan's life was defined by his joy and love of caring for the newborn infants under his care so that they could leave the hospital and grow up strong and healthy with their families. Alan loved and nurtured his niece, cousins, and grand-cousins. Alan also served his country with the 189th Airlift Wing in Jacksonville, Ark. A visitation for family & friends will be held Thursday, October 9th from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, NLR. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 10th at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2403 McArthur Drive, Jacksonville, Ark with internment immediately following at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
