Betty Jacqueline Edwards

Betty Jacqueline Edwards, 80, of Russellville, died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Stella Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 23, 1934, in Warren, Arkansas, to Henry and Marie Doggett Smith. She was a graduate of Camden Fairview High School and the Warner/Brown School of Nursing, and served as an industrial nurse with Jacuzzi Brothers of Little Rock, where she retired. She was a charter member of the Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village and a member of First Baptist Church of Russellville and the Berean Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry Smith. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Bobby Edwards; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry McKay Edwards and Sherry Edwards of Conway; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana Renae and Christopher Parent of Maumelle, and Shelia Dianne and Mark Fletcher of Russellville; a sister and brother-in-law, Sherrill and Dr. Gene Hodges of Eldon, Missouri; five grandchildren and their spouses, David McKay Powell and Erin Presley of Richmond, Kentucky, Mary Kathryn Powell of Roanoke, Virginia, Blake McKay Edwards of Cairo, Egypt, Elissa and Brian Romines of Dallas, Texas, and John and Brooke Fletcher of Russellville; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Greg Sykes. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Active pallbearers will be David Powell, Brian Romines, Christopher Parent, Mark Fletcher, John Fletcher, Dale Jackson and Donnie Barefield. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fishers of Men. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 5-6 p.m., at the funeral home.
