Ida (nee Newman) Katz, October 12, 2014 of Philadelphia, Pa. at age 96. Wife of the late Irving Katz and later Sidney White. Mother of Dr. Ellen (David) Heber-Katz and the late Dr. Barry (Kay) Katz. Sister of Chaim (Debbie) Newman and the late Eve Newman (Joseph) Belack. Also survived by two grandchildren, Irving and Jennifer, and five great-grandchildren. We mourn the passing of our beloved mother, who had incredible grace, beauty, dignity, honor and extraordinary charity and champion of Jewish causes, children, and the Jewish people.
