Odell Stricklin

of North Little Rock, AR, 1931 - 2014

Odell Stricklin, 83, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014. He was a retired United States Marine with a Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars. He was of the Catholic faith, worked construction, was a Past State Commander of VFW, a 32nd Degree Mason and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Stricklin; daughter, Eileen Stevens; two stepdaughters, Sandy Hudspeth and Janice Porter; four brothers, Earnest Stricklin Jr., Samuel H. Stricklin, Tommy M. Stricklin and John D. (Helen) Stricklin; two sisters, Mary Smith (Cleborne) and Anna Marie Lemmings; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Lelar Nichols Stricklin; wife, Jeanette Strickland Stricklin; four brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 1120 G. Street NW, Ste. 700, Washington, D.C. 20005 or Disabled Veterans, 2200 Ft. Roots Drive, Bldg. 65, Room 121, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
