Dolores Elizabeth Jones Reifsteck, passed away on October 18, 2014 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Dolores was born on May 5, 1924 in Chicago, as the only child of Walter and Isabelle Jones. Growing up, the family lived in numerous places including Ontario, Canada; Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, and finally settling in Webster Grove, Missouri. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She met her future husband, F.R. (Barney) Reifsteck, while in St. Louis and was married for 53 years before he preceded her in death. They moved to North Little Rock in 1952 from St. Louis Missouri. She was charter member, along with Barney, of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. They were very active in establishing the Sunday School at the church. After raising her 3 boys, Dolores became the children's librarian at William F. Laman Public Library in North Little Rock, Arkansas and retired after 17 years. She was a resident of Sunnyside Retirement Community since moving to Harrisonburg in January 2013. Dolores is survived by three sons; Robert and wife, Judy of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Dr. John Reifsteck of Charleston, West Virginia and Timothy and wife, Carol of Portland, Oregon. There are 8 grandchildren, William (wife, Kelle), Julia (husband, Ben), Emily (husband, Chris), Susan, Christopher, Cynthia, Madelynne, and Elizabeth. There are also three great- grandchildren, Walter, Elijah, and Lydia. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunnyside Retirement Community for their loving nursing care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas or William F. Laman Public Library in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Harrisonburg. A memorial service will follow at the church at 2 p.m. There will be a graveside service at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.lindseyharrisonburg.com.
