BILL HOLBERT, 75, passed away Aug. 30. He was born in Arkansas County in 1938 and graduated from DeWitt High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in math and history from Henderson State and a master's degree from American University in Washington D.C. He retired as a Lt. Colonel after serving in the U.S. Army for 20 years and went on to a second career at American Home Life Insurance Company and North Little Rock Funeral Home in North Little Rock. He was a member of the North Little Rock Rotary Club and enjoyed going on cruises and traveling with his wife and friends during his retirement years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helga; his much loved daughter, Annette; son, Mark (Lisa); and two treasured grandchildren, Maddox and Riley. He is also survived by his sister, Charlene; brother, Delbert (Fay); sister-in-law, Betty; and many nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 114 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116. A visitation is from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral services are at noon Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be later in the week at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock.
