Billy Gene Boyd

Billy Gene Boyd, 82, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014. He was born in DeWitt, Ark., to the late John and Azalea Boyd. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in DeWitt for 30 years, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon. Billy served in the U.S Air force during the Korean War. He was a farmer in Arkansas County and was selected Farm Family of the Year in 1974. Billy established a concession business in 1987 and he and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. with their business. He retired in 1998 and moved to Searcy, Ark. Carrying forward loving memories are his wife of 62 years, Joyce (Eason); son, Bradley Gene Boyd (Margaret); daughter, Kimlia Ann Goodwin; grandchildren, Ryan Boyd (Katie), Megan Johnson (John Mark), Jonathan Goodwin (Erica), Daniel Goodwin (Shaunda), Andrew Goodwin (Megan); 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Watts; and brothers, Leslie and Bobby Boyd. A celebration of life, officiated by Brother David Crouch will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at First Baptist Church in DeWitt.
