Clara Belle Townley Staggs passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 in Malvern Nursing Home at age 95. She was born Dec. 29, 1918 in the Cooper community to William Robert Alberton Townley and Nancy Melissa (Collie) Townley, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Dempsey Townley, Collie (Dona) Townley, Earle (Lois) Townley and Merle (Vernice) Townley; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Townley Felty (Van) and Mattie Lou Townley Davis (Johnny Ray). Clara married Lemuel Madison "Peck" Staggs on Feb. 20, 1937 in the home of the minister at First Baptist Church in Malvern and they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage before his death on Dec. 1, 2006. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Guyer of Weirsdale, Fla. and Henrietta Johnson of Ventura, Calif.; and brother-in-law, Jack Staggs of Huntsville, Texas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special friends, Bill and Ann Golding, A.J. and Christine Harrison, W. J. and Jean Brumley of Malvern and Alford (Poncho) Watts of Crossett. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 in Regency Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Tulip Cemetery.
